A suicide bomber prepared to detonate his explosive belt at a Christian church. However, he soon discovered that the God of his intended victims had a better idea.
As one of the most persecuted religious minorities in the world, Egypt’s Coptic Christians know brutality all too well. When a Muslim jihadist chose to carry out a suicide bombing a local church, his efforts would be considered just one of the countless terror attacks on the peaceful Christian minority. Unfortunately, the would-be bomber won’t be getting a second chance after his one and only attempt at jihad was miraculously thwarted.
According to RT, a Muslim suicide bomber’s plan to blow up the Church of the Virgin Mary in Mostorod failed miserably when his explosive belt detonated prematurely on a nearby bridge, killing only himself. The 29-year-old failed jihadist reportedly attempted to make his way to the Catholic church only to be slowed down by tight security, which prevented him from getting close to the congregation in time for his explosives to harm any of the intended targets.
Egyptian security forces successfully thwarted the bomber as he prepared to set off a devastating explosion amid a large congregation of Coptic Christians near Cairo. The terrorist hoped to detonate his belt within the sanctuary, ensuring maximum destruction. However, the jihadist was the only casualty of his own failed terror attack, which only wounded 2 other people, when his belt went off just 275 yards from the cathedral, KPVIreports.
Abdel Maseeh Basset, the pastor of the targeted church, told local media that although the suicide bomber had earmarked his congregation, his efforts were thwarted in the most miraculous way. Instead, the jihadist detonated just before making it to the church, though it is unclear whether the premature explosion was accidental or a last-ditch effort to take out anyone nearby.
Security in the area has recently been ramped up in response to a rapid increase in terror attacks on the Coptic Christian community by the Islamic State. Egypt’s Copts account for roughly 10 percent of the overall population and have been a heavily oppressed minority for centuries. Disturbingly, along with other types of attacks, suicide bombings are routinely carried out by Muslims against Egypt’s Christian minority.
Of course, we can expect the mainstream media to shill for Islam, especially when it comes to refraining from any mention of the religious motivation behind these attacks. However, neither their capitulation nor the appeasement of leftists can convince devout Muslims not to continue carrying out Islam’s prescriptions.
According to the Quran and hadith, not only is violent jihad the most effective way to spread Islam, it also provides the best rewards.
Quran (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.”
Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home).Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward.”
Quran (9:20) – “Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant.”
Although every faith has members who enact brutality against others, only one avidly sanctions it. Muslims commit the lion’s share of the world’s religious persecution and violence solely because their god commands it and their prophet modeled it.
